Welcome to Sierra Training, specialists in high quality, instructor led, technical training on IBM’s System i (AS/400, iSeries, i5) platform.
We have been running courses from our classroom and at customers sites within the UK and abroad, for over 30 years.
Our instructors have been working on the system since its inception in 1988. They each have over 10 years commercial experience working in various sectors of industry (financial, manufacturing, distribution, retail etc.) in addition to over 25 years training experience on the system with each instructor being IBM certified and accredited in IT training.
The Training Experience
We adopt a “hands” on approach to training where delegates work on the system, under our expert guidance, in a comfortable, relaxed and friendly environment.
All courses are highly interactive, giving delegates a platform to discuss any questions, thoughts and opinions they have. There are plenty of practical exercises for delegates to practise and consolidate the skills they have learnt.
Each delegate’s experience, background and objectives are taken into account prior to the start of the course, enabling the instructor to tailor the course to meet the individual’s needs. With a maximum of 3 delegates per course the instructor can give each delegate the personal attention required to maximise their education and fulfil, and surpass, their objectives.
We pride ourselves on our course documentation which is comprehensive and constantly being updated with the latest features. Testament to this is the fact that they are used as reference manuals by our customers within their workplace and we have always received very positive feedback on the quality of the course documentation.
Classroom Safety Procedures
We have implemented comprehensive cleansing and social distancing measures, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that all necessary precautions and guidelines have been taken to create a safe learning environment.
In the training room all furniture and equipment (i.e. desks, chairs, PC’s, monitors, keyboards, mouse, common touch points etc.) will be deep cleaned and sanitised before each course. Anti-viral hand sanitiser gel dispenser is available in the classroom. We will open windows and use the air conditioning to improve fresh air circulation and air quality.
