This course teaches installation and administration of IBM HTTP Server and WebSphere Application Server on iSeries. It covers using the administrative interfaces for WebSphere administration, deploying various applications, securing applications, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and the Network Deployment environment.
On completion you will be able to:
- Describe the WebSphere Application Server packaging and high-level architecture.
- Install WebSphere Application Server and create profiles.
- Use the Web Administration tool and WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console and scripting tools to administer WebSphere Application Server.
- Describe J2EE components and packaging at a high level.
- Use the application assembly tools in the Application Server Toolkit to configure application settings.
- Install applications on WebSphere Application Server .
- Troubleshoot common problems.
- Describe WebSphere Application Server security and Web Server security concepts.
- Enable WebSphere Application Server security, set up application security, and enable SSL .
- Describe WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment and scalability concepts.
Familiarity with iSeries system administration tasks and understand Web and Web server concepts.
